You can have your stylist thin it out with thinning shears. Some stylist prefer to use a razor blade, I recommend the shears because if the stylist slips with the razor, then he/she can take too much off. The stylist is more in control when using the shears. Do not thin it every time you get your hair cut, because then you will be taking away hair. Hair doesn't grow that fast. Hope this helps ya :)

Try using a flattening iron on it. I have thick hair too, and it gives it a thinning effect when I use mine. Make sure to buy a good one though. Cheap flattening irons can tear up your hair. Ask your hairstylist which one is the best. Good Luck!

I have the same problem, well did..Go to a salon and tell them you want your hair cut in layers, you can still keep your length. But tell them to use a razor blade..It worked great for me, now I can straighten it and it's not so poofy.

thinning shears, and finding a conditioner that really works on your hair. try the matrix one in a tub, or any of the conditioners that come in tubs tend to be better. when it is smoother, the hair will sit better and you'll really appreciate your thick hair
