You can either try a hotter straightner.
Mine is titanium and it works like a charm,
or you can get it relaxed!

I have the same problem, when i start to straighten my hair i always take bigger sections of hair. Take the sections longways across ur head not downward it makes it harder.

don't brush when your hair is wet, because its easier to break...try brush it while its under water, that will help with the frizziness, put some antifrizz, and let it dry on it own! your hair won't be frizzy and it will be easier to straiten.

well yes it comes w/ lots of time and practice...dont worry you'll get better @ it. but try to get your hair as straight as you can while blow drying it, and also do it in the same direction as you want it to lay after you flat iron. a good blow dry really cuts down on the flat ironing part. and as time goes by your hair will get "trained".
ps: i dont like the results w/ ionic irons... but i love my ceramic ones.
